Plinky to the rescue!

Ever have those moments as a writer when you can’t seem to think of anything interesting to write but you know you need to write something. Well this is where Plinky steps in. Plinky is a site that provides prompts to help writers on their off days. You can check out the website for new topics or you can get them emailed to you daily or weekly to push you a little further in your writing creativity. I will be adding that to this blog as it desperately needs resuscitation. I did a horrible job of keeping up with the 30 Day challenge so hopefully for the month of August I can do a much better job :)

FYI: don’t be shocked if my answers are kinda short as some topics I just don’t have that much to say. but give me some credit for trying!

Plinky question: If you were guaranteed an honest response, what question would you ask?

If the question was directed towards guys… Why are you not attracted to me?

If the question was directed towards girls…What are some of your most flawed qualities?

If it was directed towards my parents…Was I a planned birth?

If it was directed towards my boyfriend…Have you ever thought of being with another girl during our relationship; who and why?

If it was directed towards a stranger…What are you first impressions of me?

Could you live without internet for a month?

Nope. Our deepest connection to life and each other is through the internet. Used for  both bad and good, it is one tool that so many people depend upon. And for the rare few who choose to live without such a basic tool of our modern world, their life is not complete void of it as there are other facets that the internet works in their favour. I can last a few days at best, but a whole month…what? are you trying to kill me? (jk hehe)

What is your weirdest pet peeve?

I cannot stand to have drawers or cabinets in every shape and size opened. If left open, I will close them myself  even if you still need it at a later point. It drives me crazy. I’m often left walking into the kitchen, slamming them closed unable to walk away from them.

Another unusual pet peeve of mine is closets that are uncolourcoordinated. I just don’t know how people live without their clothes going in the order of a rainbow and neutrals either in the front or the back. I don’t know how to dress or put clothing away if not in a colourcoordinated fashion. because I’m just weird like that :P

You’re a fly on the wall at your own funeral. What are people saying about you?

I sincerely hope they’re saying how much they miss me and how sad they are to see me go. I hope they remember the nice things about my life and saw the beauty in my presence on this earth. I would hope that they share stories about me and their experiences with me. Maybe they are talking about the struggles in my life and the things they can learn from my existence on earth. And the one thing I hope most of all is that my memory lives on through some of them, that they share stories of me even long after I’m gone. I hope my life impacts someone elses.

What is your favourite quote and why?

My favourite quote is ‘move on passion, pause on reason‘ because it depicts exactly the type of person that I am. I am an impulsive, passionate, dedicated person. I stick to my gut feeling, listen to it and follow through even when rational tells me otherwise. I believe in doing what you feel is right to ensure that you know that you’re doing what you believe in and not because you’re supposed to or you were told to.

Another quote I adore is ‘ a promise  is comfort for a fool’. The word of others should always be taken with caution. Everything has a catch, there’s always a price to pay, nothing is free and no one is ever as nice as they seem. It’s a paranoid and negative view but one that is often merited. Consider how many times in your own life you’ve been screwed by others. I’m not saying to not trust people but to do so with caution until they earn it and prove themselves to you.

And my final fav quote is ‘Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.’ I think its always important to give people the benefit of the doubt, room to prove themselves and an open understanding that we are all human beings leading very different and separate lives. Tragedies fall upon every person at unsuspecting moments and we need to be kind to everyone because their road rage may be as a result of a recent death. You never know. So smile a little more and be as happy as you can. Life could be a hell of a lot worse.
